Trump admin kinda prop the stocks high and oil price low to have better midterm odds. That wouldnt matter now, so expect price and value normalization

Say what you will about him, Elon got his IPO money at peak valuation. Seems unlikely that Anthropic and Openai will get nearly as much.

I worry we're heading into a bit of post hoc ergo propter hoc here.
Election results may have been the last straw, but not all the straws.

Stock market reporting is always pretty funny. "Stocks went up because the Democrats won!" "Stocks went down because the democrats won!"
I think it's just a chaotic system and, apart from extreme events, it's impossible to know what the actual reasons for most movements are.

Both of these can be true. The reporting is just capturing the sentiment driving the market. There might be a relief rally that things will stabilize now, followed by a panic that data centers will not be built according to the expected schedule.

I thought modern American Democrats are like the biggest defenders of corporate interests?

Hard to say. It used to be Republicans that had that title, but their support now seems to come with expectations of ideological alignment.
There is a wing of the Democratic party which is definitely not a reflexive defender of corporate interests, but is unclear how much power it's going to have within the party.

Compared to early- and mid-1900's American Democrats, they definitely are.
But when enough voters are angry enough about something specific, then most politicians reveal that their #1 loyalty is to their own careers.
And besides, the AI billionaires failed to freely share their billions with the Democrats before this election. Can't let that kind of behavior go unpunished.
